SSC CGL- Data Analysis (Yearly)
The announced number of vacancies is 20,000 but the number of vacancies can go up to 37,000* as per reports.
As per the trends in the last 4 years, the total number of qualified students for mains is almost 15 times of the vacancies.
In 2022, we have huge vacancies the ratio of the number of vacancies and qualified students for mains will be lesser. It should be around 10 times this time.
If the total number of vacancies remains 20k, the total number of qualified students for mains will be around 2,24000.
SSC CGL 2022 (Tier 1)
As per past records, there will be a huge difference in cut-off marks this time.
We can see a dip in cut-off marks because of a huge number of vacancies and comparatively easy to moderate level of questions.
We should expect the cut-off marks to qualify for mains to be around 115 plus minus 10 marks. You must start your preparation for mains even if you expect 105 marks.
The reasoning is comparatively easier for CGL examinations.
It is tough to score more in General Awareness because of its vast area.
Mathematics and English are decisive to qualify.
The marks in tier 1 exams are qualifying only, it will not be added to the final merit list. It’s eliminative in nature.
SSC CGL 2022 (Tier-2)
The computer is a qualifier only. The qualifying mark is 18 but you should score more because it may be decisive for some of the vacancies where computer knowledge has some core advantage.
There are negative markings in mains (1 mark will be deducted on every third incorrect answer) exams. You need to be more confident while attempting.
English paper has more weightage (35%). It is definitely a deciding factor. You need to pay more attention to English, although all subjects are equally important.
